There is a MUGUKI meeting on the 28th January. This is a great opportunity to meet other MapInfo users and discover how technology is being applied in many different ways. There is an interesting and varied agenda. I’m certainly looking forward to what should be a healthy debate on the Copyright Debate/(Derived) Data Use and the Internet. With representatives from eMapsite, OS and Google.
There is a is also a chance to learn more about the Stratus products.

Two British students have been fined for illegally carrying out a survey and making maps in the restive Chinese province of Xinjiang. I’m not sure crowd sourced data will really take off in china.
If you are heading to Xinjiang for holidays this summer be sure to keep your iphone in your pocket.
As mentioned I will be attending an AGI INSPIRE workshop on Thursday.
As part of registration the organisers have asked me the following:
Please indicate the themes you are interested in by rating the list below from 1 to 9, with 1 being the topic you are most interested in:
- Co-ordinate reference systems
- Geographical grid systems
- Geographical names
- Administrative units
- Addresses
- Cadastral parcels
- Transport networks
- Hydrography
- Protected sites
Hmmmm, I’m torn between giving Cadastral parcels a 6 or a 7!
Any thoughts?
I’ll report back after the event.
Mark
Wishing you all a happy new year from everyone on the Stratus team,
